The rules of a game are not what I know them to be

Very likely we are both right. Most of these games were played across centuries and half a continent, and almost none has a single authoritative rulebook. Every game's own rules screen says which parts are documented and which are this reconstruction's reading of the evidence — Liubo especially, which had to be rebuilt from a poem and excavated boards. If you know a source that says otherwise, send it; it is the most useful mail this app can receive.

I bought The Whole Cellar and my games are locked

Open The House from the shelf, or the purchase sheet from any locked game, and tap Restore purchases. The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, so it follows you to a new phone and survives reinstalling. If it still does not appear, mail the address above with the Apple Account you bought it with — not the password, which is never needed and should never be sent to anyone.

Why only three take-backs?

Three per game, and starting a new game gives you three more. The Whole Cellar lifts the limit. Games decided by a throw of dice or sticks have no take-back at all, because you cannot un-throw.

The nightly challenge

One game a night, the same one for everybody, five attempts before midnight. It is free forever and reaches all thirty games, including the fourteen in the cellar — that is the point of it. It resets at your own local midnight.

My record says “drawn”, and my streak did not break

That is deliberate. Twenty-eight of the thirty games can end in a draw — a hundred quiet moves, a threefold repetition, a board split exactly in two — and a drawn game is counted as its own third number rather than filed as a loss. A drawn nightly challenge holds your streak where it is: you did not take the board from the innkeeper, but he did not take it from you either. Konane and Ur show only two numbers, because neither game can draw.

Does it work offline?

Entirely. The app makes no network requests of any kind. Aeroplane mode changes nothing.

Deleting your data

Everything the app remembers — the language you chose, your streak, your take-backs — lives in this device's own storage and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is nothing on any server to ask us to erase, because there is no server.

Die Regeln stimmen nicht mit dem überein, was ich kenne

Wahrscheinlich haben wir beide recht. Diese Spiele wurden über Jahrhunderte und halbe Kontinente gespielt, und fast keines hat ein verbindliches Regelwerk. Jeder Regelbildschirm sagt, was belegt ist und was die Lesart dieser Rekonstruktion — besonders bei Liubo, das aus einem Gedicht und ausgegrabenen Brettern rekonstruiert werden musste. Wenn du eine Quelle kennst, die etwas anderes sagt: schick sie. Das ist die nützlichste Post, die diese App bekommen kann.

Ich habe „Der ganze Keller“ gekauft, die Spiele sind aber gesperrt

Öffne Das Haus im Regal oder das Kaufblatt bei einem gesperrten Spiel und tippe auf Käufe wiederherstellen. Der Kauf gehört zu deinem Apple Account, geht also auf ein neues Telefon mit und übersteht eine Neuinstallation. Wenn er trotzdem nicht auftaucht: schreib an die Adresse oben und nenne den Apple Account, mit dem du gekauft hast — niemals das Passwort, das wird nie gebraucht und sollte niemandem geschickt werden.

Warum nur drei Rücknahmen?

Drei je Partie; eine neue Partie gibt dir wieder drei. Der ganze Keller hebt die Grenze auf. Spiele, die ein Wurf entscheidet, haben gar keine Rücknahme — einen Wurf kann man nicht zurücknehmen.

Die abendliche Herausforderung

Ein Spiel pro Abend, für alle dasselbe, fünf Versuche bis Mitternacht. Sie ist für immer kostenlos und reicht über alle dreißig Spiele, auch die vierzehn im Keller — genau das ist ihr Sinn. Sie wechselt um deine eigene lokale Mitternacht.

Meine Bilanz zeigt „unentschieden“, und meine Serie ist geblieben

Das ist Absicht. Achtundzwanzig der dreißig Spiele können unentschieden enden — hundert stille Züge, dieselbe Stellung zum dritten Mal, ein exakt geteiltes Brett — und ein Unentschieden wird als eigene dritte Zahl gezählt statt als Niederlage verbucht. Eine unentschiedene Herausforderung hält deine Serie, wo sie ist: Du hast dem Wirt das Brett nicht abgenommen, aber er dir auch nicht. Konane und Ur zeigen nur zwei Zahlen, weil bei ihnen kein Unentschieden möglich ist.

Funktioniert die App offline?

Vollständig. Die App stellt keinerlei Netzwerkanfragen. Der Flugmodus ändert nichts.

Daten löschen

Alles, was die App sich merkt — die gewählte Sprache, deine Serie, deine Rücknahmen — liegt im Speicher dieses Geräts und sonst nirgends. Die App zu löschen löscht alles davon. Es gibt nichts auf einem Server zu löschen, weil es keinen Server gibt.
